Such fittings may be deemed to conform to this Standard where the opposing faces otherwise conform to this Standard’s dimensional, manufacturing, performance and product conformity requirements. 1.7 New designs and innovations This Standard does not prevent the use of any alternative materials, designs and methods of construction that do not conform with the specific requirements of this Standard, or are not mentioned in it, that have been approved by the relevant authority. Where an alternative system or innovation is intended, the design drawings with supporting documentation, as applicable, shall be submitted to the relevant authority for approval.
