2.3 RESISTANCE TO DEGRADATION BY LIGHT Where resistance to degradation by light is required, it shall be determined in accordance with Appendix C. When tested in accordance with Appendix C, the following criteria apply: (a) The shade fabric shall have retained greater than or equal to 80% of its required minimum breaking force or bursting force as applicable to its fabric type and designation (see Table 2.2 and Table 2.3). (b) The exposed samples shall not exhibit a colour change of less than three on the grey scales, when measured in accordance with AS 2001 .4.A02. 2.4 UV-VISIBLE TRANSMITTANCE Where the percentage transmittance of radiation is required, it shall be measured in accordance with Appendix B.
3.3 RESISTANCE TO DEGRADATION BY LIGHT
Where resistance to degradation by light is required, it shall be determined in accordance with Appendix C.
When tested in accordance with Appendix C the following criteria apply:
(a) The shade fabric shall have retained greater than or equal to 80% of the required breaking or bursting force as applicable to its fabric type and designation. (Refer to Table 3.2 and Table 3.3.)
(b) The exposed samples shall not exhibit a colour change of less than three on the grey scales, when measured in accordance with AS 2001.4.A02.
3.4 MASS PER UNIT AREA
The mass per unit area of shade fabric shall be determined in accordance with AS 2001.2.13 and included in any test reports.
3.5 SOLAR RADIATION TRANSMITTANCE
Where values for solar radiation transmittance of the shade fabric are required to be assessed, they shall be measured according to the methods described in ISO 9845-I.
3.6 FLAMMABILITY
Where shade fabrics are required to be assessed for their flammability properties, they should be tested in accordance with AS/NZS 1530.3.
3.7 LABELLING
3.7.1 Label information
The following information shall be provided on an attached label or other appropriate means that ensures the information reaches the end user of the shade fabric:
(a) The percentage ultraviolet effectiveness (UVE).
(b) The protection category.
(c) The manufacturer’s name or trademark.
(d) The type of construction. i.e. knitted or woven.
(e) The batch number or date of manufacture.
(f) A reference to this Standard, i.e. AS 4174.
(g) If the UVE is greater than or equal to 80% the following statement shall be included:
