AS NZS 3863:2002 pdf free.Galvanized mild steel wire for armouring of cables.
8 ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE
Where required, the d.c. resistance of the galvanized wire shall be determined by the routine method given in IEC 60468. The determination shall be performed at room temperature, and the result corrected to 20°C using a resistance-temperature coefficient of 0.005/K. The resistance shall not exceed the appropriate value given in Table 5.
9 ADHESION OF COATING
The adhesion of the zinc coating shall be tested by wrapping the wire at least six close turns around a cylindrical mandrel. The ratio of mandrel diameter to nominal wire diameter (d) shall be in accordance with Table 6.
The zinc coating shall remain firmly adherent to the steel and shall not crack or flake to such an extent that any flakes of zinc can be removed by rubbing with bare fingers.
10 PACKING
The wire manufacturer shall ensure that every coil is securely tied with not less than three binders of suitable material, approximately evenly spaced. For material supplied other than in coils, each packing unit shall be secured such that the material does not unroll.
11 I’4IARKING
Each packing unit shall be marked or tagged with a label with clear and durable marking, to enable it to be identified, and to enable test results to be related to that particular packing unit.
NOTE: Manufacturers making a statement of compliance with this Australian/New Zealand Standard on a product or on packaging or promotional material related to that product are advised to ensure that such compliance is capable of being verified.
12 ROUNDING OF TEST RESULT NUMBERS
12.1 General
With the exception of the tensile test and coating mass results, the observed or calculated values shall be rounded to the same number of figures as in the specified values and then compared with the specified values (see also AS 2706).
12.2 rllensile strength value
The determined value of tensile strength shall be rounded off to the nearest 10 MPa.
12.3 Coating mass value
The determined value of coating mass shall be rounded off to the nearest 5 g/m2 in accordance with AS/NZS 4534.AS NZS 3863 pdf download.
