BS EN 15597-1 This document specifies the requirements on design and construction of bulk spreaders and sprayers,trailer spreaders and towed spreaders with speed related spreading for winter service. This document also deals with information about the minimum content required for operating manuals. The document is valid for machines, which are used to spread the following spreading agents:not pre-wetted and pre-wetted spreading agents; 一abrasive spreading agents; 一liquid spreading agents (brine). This document is not applicable to:

Selected dosage shall be spread homogeneously within the set spreading width and spreading track asymmetry.For spreader with total liquid capacity till 4000 I, a 2”(inch) thread shall be available for fast coupling connection for filling liquid spreading agent tanks accessible from ground. For higher capacity, a 3″ thread shall be available. When the spreader is equipped with an automatic system able to shut off the external filling pump when the tanks are full, the connection shall respect the diagram shown in Annex A. There shall be a level indicator legible from the flling operations (readable scale with division of at least one tenth of the maximum tank volume). Design of tank(s) and feeding pipes shall permit a flling
performance of 5 min to fill complete the tanks or, at least 500 l/min for total liquid capacity till 4000 I,and 1 200 l/min for total liquid capacity higher than 4 000 I. The manufacturer shall provide in the manual the information about flling pressure to reach this flling performances.Emptying of tanks and feeding pipes shall be ensured by a valve operating from the ground.
Bursting of tanks shall be prevented by an air overflow system dimensioned to allow the right ventilation during flling, and to avoid the exit of liquid agent.BS EN 15597-1 pdf download.
