BS EN 17361:2020 pdf free.Inland navigation vessels – Outboard ladders.
BS EN 17361 This document applies to outboard ladders for inland navigation vessels. Outboard ladders are used on inland navigation vessels having great side heights to facilitate safe climbing into ship’s boats, safe disembarking or safe crossing over onto vessels in the case of significantly different boarding heights. This document specifies safety requirements on design, dimensions and strength and test conditions for outboard ladders.Outboard ladders are intended for that range where boarding stairs according to EN 1502 are not sufficient in length. This range starts at a boarding height of approximately at 2,8 m above the light water-line. Boarding ladders are not intended for use by passengers. The following documents are referred to in the text in such a way that some or all of their content constitutes requirements of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. EN 22768-1, General tolerances一Part 1: Tolerances for linear and angular dimensions without individual tolerance indications (ISO 2768-1) EN ISO 3506-1, Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless steel fasteners – Part 1: Bolts, screws and studs (ISO 3506-1) EN ISO 3506-2, Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless steel fasteners一Part 2: Nuts [ISO 3506-2). The outboard ladder under test shall be hooked in the normal position for use. Before testing the outboard ladder shall be fixed to prevent movement. Each rung and the platform shall be successively loaded for 60 s with a test load of2,5 kN. The top and bottom rung shall be loaded simultaneously for 60 s with a test load of 2,5 kN. After removing the load, there shall be no visible permanent deformations. A test load of 0,5 kN shall be applied successively to the upper end and at the height of the middle spacer on each handhold for 60 s. The test load shall be applied both perpendicularly to the outboard ladder and in its plane. After removing the load, there shall be no visible permanent deformations. To test the adjustable hook, an outboard ladder is suspended with the adjustable hook in its most extended position and one discretionally rung is subjected to a test load of 2,0 kN for 60 s.After removing the load, there shall be no visible permanent deformations.BS EN 17361 pdf download.
