BS EN 50131-13 1 Scope This document specifies the requirements for pyrotechnic obscuration security devices as a part of an IAS. It covers application and performance and specifies the necessary tests and trials to ensure efficiency and reliability of such obscuration devices. This document is not intended to cover Hold-up alarm systems, standalone or vehicular security pyrotechnic obscuration security device. This document also gives guidelines on the criteria for design, installation, operation and maintenance of security pyrotechnic obscuration security device. If the tool is successfully inserted, it should be manoeuvred to try to interfere with the tamper detection device. The wire test includes forming the wire as appropriate. Attempts shall be restricted to 5 min per tool (10 min for grade 4). If the test fails, it should be repeated and a further failure within 4 further attempts shall result in the overall test failing. This document does not deal with CE marking, chemical (REACH/CLP) or transport regulation requirements for pyrotechnical devices set forth in the relevant European regulation and harmonized standards issued for this purpose.POD shall meet the following requirements: For all operational test, the POD shall not activate alarm, generate tamper, fault or other signals or messages when subject to the specific range of environmental and EMC conditions and shall
continue to function normally. For endurance tests, the POD shall pass the performance test after been subjected to the specified range of environmental conditions. The applicable environmental tests shall be in accordance to the environmental class declared by the manufacturer, as indicated in Table 7.
Tests shall be performed according to EN 50130-5 test methods. For all operational test the pyrotechnic obscuration security device shall not activate alarm, generate tamper, fault or other signals or messages when subject to the specific range of environmental and EMC conditions and shall continue to function normally. For endurance tests, the pyrotechnic obscuration security device shall pass the performance test after been subjected to the specified range of environmental conditions. BS EN 50131-13 pdf download.
